Who’s Willie?
Willie isn’t a real person.
He’s the friendly face of Firewood Willie — a stand-in for the kind of small, family-owned firewood operator who actually knows what they’re cutting. He exists because we believe finding good firewood should feel less like shopping on Marketplace and more like asking a neighbor who’s been doing this his whole life.
What we’re building
A directory + a calculator + a mission.
Firewood Willie is two products that prop each other up. The directory is where buyers find verified sellers — names, prices, hours, photos, reviews, and a way to message the operator directly. The estimator is a calculator that takes how you actually burn (fireplace, fire pit, smoker, pizza oven, daily wood heat) and tells you the right quantity in bundles, cords, or bulk loads.
We make the two reinforce each other. The estimator hands a qualified buyer to a matched seller. The directory pre-fills the estimator with that seller’s real prices. Either way, the buyer gets a fair answer and the operator gets a customer who already knows what they need.
The bigger mission: small firewood operators do real, careful work — curing hardwoods for a year, knowing the difference between cooking wood and a campfire load, delivering when they say they will. They lose to suburban resellers and Marketplace listings because Marketplace doesn’t reward expertise. We’re trying to fix that.
