Terms of Service

The deal between you and Willie. Short where it can be, careful where it has to be.

Section 1

What these terms cover

These terms are the agreement between you and Firewood Willie, operated by Travis Lewis — “Willie” below — covering the Firewood Willie website, the seller account, and every feature in it. By creating an account or using Willie, you agree to them.

How we handle your data is a separate document: the Privacy Policy. It is part of this agreement by reference.

Section 2

Who can use Willie

You need to be at least 18, running or working for a firewood business, and able to agree to these terms on that business’s behalf. If you are signing up for a company, you are telling us you have the authority to bind it.

Section 3

Your account

  • Willie signs you in with a link sent to your email, so your email account is effectively your password. Keep it secure, and keep the address on your account current.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share sign-in links.
  • Anyone whose address is on your business’s access list can see everything in that account. Treat adding an address the way you would treat handing someone a key.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone has gained access they should not have.

Section 4

Acceptable use

Using Willie, you agree not to:

  • Claim a business that is not yours. Listings in the directory belong to real operators. Claiming one requires proof that you control an address already on that listing, and attempting to get around that is a straightforward violation of these terms.
  • Scrape or harvest other sellers’ data. The directory is there for buyers to find sellers, not for anyone to bulk-collect contact details.
  • Abuse the lead-ingest system. Your ingest address and connected sources are for your own leads. Do not use them to relay bulk mail, to forward other people’s correspondence, or to load content you have no right to.
  • Misrepresent what you sell. Prices, wood types, seasoning claims, and service areas on your page should be true.
  • Interfere with the service — probing, overloading, or circumventing rate limits and access controls.
  • Use Willie for anything illegal, or to harass anyone.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things. Where the abuse affects another seller, we will generally act first and discuss afterwards.

Section 5

The content you put in

  • You own your content. Your business details, photos, prices, customer records, and messages stay yours.
  • You grant us the licence we need to actually run the service — to store your content, display it on your public seller page where you have chosen to publish it, process it to produce quotes and leads, and back it up.
  • That licence exists only to operate Willie. We do not use your content for anything else, and it ends when your content is deleted.
  • You are responsible for your content being accurate and lawful — including having the right to use any photo you upload, and complying with the rules that apply to how you contact your customers.

Section 6

Connected services

Willie can connect to Gmail, receive forwarded mail at an address we generate for you, and accept content shared from other apps on your phone. These are optional, off by default, and disconnectable at any time from Lead Sources.

  • Connecting a service means you also agree to that service’s own terms. Gmail access is governed by Google’s terms and by the Google API Services User Data Policy.
  • You are telling us you have the right to connect the account you connect, and to bring its content into Willie.
  • Those services can change or withdraw access on their own schedule. If one does, the corresponding Willie feature stops working, and that is not a failure of this agreement.

Section 7

Plans and payment

Willie has a Free tier and paid Pro and Premium tiers. Free covers a working seller page, your inbox with a cap on how many customer messages are visible each month, jobs, contacts, and prices. The paid tiers lift the message cap and add the features listed on the seller page.

There is no automated checkout today. Upgrading is arranged by email, and we do not collect or store card details — nothing in Willie processes payments. When self-serve billing exists, we will update these terms and tell you before anything starts charging.

When paid plans do run on a subscription: they renew for the period you chose until you cancel, cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the current one, and we do not refund partial periods — you keep the paid features until the period you have already paid for ends. Prices can change with at least 30 days’ notice before a renewal.

Section 8

Ending it

  • You can stop using Willie whenever you like. To close the account and have the data removed, email crossroadsfirewood@gmail.com.
  • We can suspend or close an account for a breach of these terms, or if we stop operating the service. Except where a breach makes it impractical, we will give you notice and a chance to get your data out.
  • After closure, your data is deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Policy — within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep.
  • The sections on content licences, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.

Section 9

Disclaimer

Willie is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Specifically: we do not guarantee that every lead reaches you, that a connected source keeps working, that a parsed message is accurate, that an estimate matches what a buyer actually needs, or that the service is uninterrupted or error-free. Willie is a tool for running your business, not a substitute for checking your own inbox and your own numbers.

Section 10

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Willie is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, or lost data, however caused.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of the subscription fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions. Where that is true, these limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Section 11

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Before starting formal proceedings, both of us agree to try to resolve the dispute by talking — email crossroadsfirewood@gmail.com with the details and we get 30 days to sort it out. If that fails, disputes are resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, in Commonwealth of Virginia or remotely, rather than in court and rather than as part of a class action. Either of us can still bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.

Section 12

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update the date at the top. Material changes — anything that meaningfully alters what you are agreeing to — will be announced inside the app with a message from Willie. Continuing to use Willie after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Section 13

Getting in touch

Questions about these terms go to crossroadsfirewood@gmail.com. Account questions can also go through Account & subscription in the app.
